NetDRMS
The NetDRMS system was developed at Stanford. It is a system for managing data. While data can be stored either on tape or disk, in practice outside of Stanford disk storage is generally used. The system has two parts, the DRMS database that holds information about metadata, and the SUMS database that holds information about the actual files that are on disk.
